freakin true..... sad.. but true...

Here is some food for thought...We should place the elderly in prisons. They will get a shower a day, video surveillance in case of problems, three meals a day, access to a library, computer, TV, gym, doctors on-site, free medication if needed. Put criminals in nursing homes. They have cold meals, lights off at 7pm, two showers a week, live in a smaller room and pay rent at $4,000 a month!!! It's pretty sad that we treat prisoners better than the elderly.... copy and paste if you agree It just boggles the mind, doesn't it?

hmm this is good..

You know.. I think this was a really good idea to start this blog again for me. To write my vents and frustrations out on. Get's it out of my system somewhat and no one has found it yet!! yeehaww. lol I wonder how long it will take before someone stumbles on it? Hopefully a long time but if someone does, then so be it. I hope I continue to find the time to do this. If nothing else, it's a good release for stress. And we all know my life is full of that. :-)

a rant.. a vent... call it what you want..

here comes a rant... I have this sister.. let's call her Anne. Anne has always been jealous of me and the relationship I have with our mom. I am my mom's caregiver, we live together. And she has been my caregiver over the years too but now in her golden years, she is bedridden due to health issues, I'm her main caregiver and P.O.A. for quite some time now.

So, since my mom can't do much for herself these days I'm always trying to figure out ways to make her days better or even great. Recently I had an idea to get some of my family here to visit her. Everyone lives at a distance so I contacted my cousins in Orillia and Tara and near Kingston to see what we could accomplish. One one stipulation. My mom didn't want my sister or brother (I have a peace bond on him because he's a piece of work - yes.. a real peace bond, through the courts) to know and wanted nothing said on facebook either.

We got only a few able to make it but my one cousin came with her husband and brought the two people I really wanted here. This was not for us, this was for my mom. My cousin brought her mom, my mom's sister! And my aunt's husband too. They were so happy to see each other. Neither is getting healthier or younger and I felt it was important. The last time the sisters saw each other was almost 2 years ago when my mom was seriously ill in hospital. My nephew and his family came too which was really nice for my mom.

So now comes the problem. Seems my cousin didn't understand "nothing on facebook" and does it. Now my sister gets an earful and starts in on my mom. She calls before the event to tell my mom she knows about it. And that she thinks it's a secret so don't say anything! ok.. so if it was a secret you had to let the cat out of the bag??? Now kind of you Anne. No, that wasn't it, it was simply because she wasn't invited so had a need to try to spoil it for my mom. Why else would she do that? Why would you deliberately call someone and "let them in on a secret being planned for them?" What bullshit is that. Besides, it was no secret, the only secret was suppose to be not telling my siblings but that request was disregarded.

Anyway, I planned it all out and I rented a room for it, got the food, etc. Got mom down there around 1:00 and we got back home around 4 pm. There was 2 missed calls from my sister on our phone. One at 2:38 and another around 3:30. Why? Why would you call to interrupt such a special thing as a limited time meeting with her mom's sister? Why? Because my sister always has to be the center of attention as well and that's another reason she's so angry she wasn't suppose to know about it. This is not about her, it's about my mom and her sister. It's not chit-chat time with cousins, or hover around mom to make it look like you're actually involved in her life more than a phone call... Anne!!! It's about mom!! not you!! Why the fuck do you want to interrupt what little time she has with her sister? They were only here for a bit over an hour. So you want to take away time from mom so you can talk to your aunt and cousin? Get a freakin life.

Mom says she can wait and doesn't call her back for a few hours. lol geez... Tells her it has nothing to do with my cousin (my sister gave her great credit, all the credit, for this event). Mom told her I paid for it all, I arranged it, everything. My sister goes silent. (later this morning turns out she went back on facebook and announced again thanks to my cousin for arranging it all... lol.. She is just too much.

However.. she is giving my mom grief about this all now. She can't stand my nephew because he didn't invite her or her son, to his wedding, she can't stand his wife either pretty much for the same reasons. And that was the nephew that was here at the gathering. She is really angry she wasn't there. Gee I wonder why huh? She interrogated my mom and grilled her about this day. Almost to the point of ruining it for her. She was so happy to see her sister and brother-in-law and my cousin and her husband. And then along comes Anne and her phone calls...

Now I'm afraid my cousin is about to get a gentle but firm earful from my mom for letting my sister in on all this. She specifically asked that it not be mentioned to save her exactly this kind of grief but my cousin didn't listen. And it's not like she had no idea how bad things can get with my siblings. My mom and her have talked about it many times. And my sister is about to get an earful as well from my mom that she isn't going to take kindly too either but my mom is fed up. All she wanted was a nice day with her sister. A short but meaning ful hour spent with her. Due to distance it could be the last time for them and because my cousin went against my mom's wishes and blabbed to my sister, my sister has got to jump in and give my mom grief about it, thus spoiling it somewhat for her. She's really fed up with Ann spoiling stuff for her because of her hate for me. She needs to grow the hell up and focus some of that negative attention that she spews on my mom into positive attention and visit her or send her flowers or do something. Yeah, I know, she's broke. Who the hell isn't? Her boyfriend works... and a $ store card and a stamp is still less then $2. Maybe it's the effort that it would involve???

A trip for nothing...

geez today I was booked to get my tattoo at Yonge St. Tattoo's. I've been there twice already. Once to get a quote and then last time to take in the pictures and get a better quote and to make an appt. They made the appt for last Tuesday however it was literally pouring so I couldn't go. otherwise my scooter would have got too wet and so would I. So I rebooked it for today. So off we go, our friend wheeling my mom so she gets some of this nice weather too and I have company for the trip there. I get there and they can't find the pictures! Then Evie comes out and she doesn't know anything about it either. Evie is suppose to be doing my tat. The pic isn't even done yet!! So they have to draw it first, etc. Exactly how long do they think I have? And now they inform me that usually in the summer it can take 3 weeks to get the artwork done! Are you kidding me? Don't you think it would have been beneficial for SOMEONE there to tell me that? Two different people were discussing my appt and then you can add Evie to that afterwards when they asked her to do the tat. There's a sign on the door that walk-in's are welcome, guess you better want a teeny tat that is picked off their wall or that's not going to happen either. So now I have to wait for yet another appt. One more fuck up and I want my deposit back and I go elsewhere. I may yet anyway. They do good work but I don't think this is kosher.

Is anywhere safe these days?

Is there such a place as a safe place any more? Here some asshole shoots up a food court at our busiest mall. A young girl visiting here gets out with her life somehow.. she goes home, to the States, to Colorado. need I say more? Well she decides to go to the theatre to see the preview of the new batman movie... and then some wacked out asshole invades thier fun time and blows the place away, killing this girl in the carnage. it seems death was stalking this child. And she was a child, only in her early 20's. Now innocent people go to temple yesterday and some asshole there opens fire. 7 more innocent people dead. WTF is going on? And how the hell can you say "guns don't kill people, people kill people"... well if they didn't have the fuckin guns it would be a hell of a lot more difficult to kill 7, 25, and more at a time now wouldn't it. time to ban all guns people. And personally I don't give a rats ass about your opinion if you are opposite to mine. lol my blog, my rant, my opinion. And right here, right now, that's all that counts to me. I am so sick of hearing these kinds of heart wrenching, gut wrenching stories of innocent people laying dead in the street or in places where you are suppose to be safe and never have to fear.

If this doesn't inspire, nothing will......

another WTF???

Pretty soon I'm going to ask someone to stop the planet, I want off! I don't get it. Religion in this instance.. Seventh Day Adventist not accepting of Gays? Since the hell when? I have several friends that are 7th Day Adventists, one of which is a gay man so since when don't they accept homosexuality? I just don't get it.. so, this morning I'm looking at the Toronto Star and the front page story is... "In a case that pits religious freedoms against gay rights, a rental consultant freely admits she denied a Brampton apartment to a same-sex couple because the landlord is opposed to their sexual orientation. Juliet Stewart says her clients, a Seventh-day Adventist husband and wife, told her in no uncertain terms during a screening interview that they would never allow a gay couple to rent their basement apartment. That may violate Ontario’s Human Rights Code, but Stewart is unbowed, and the homeowners, who live in the house with the rental apartment, aren’t backing down either, she says. “If the Human Rights Commission comes after me, they come after me,’’ Stewart said in an interview this week, adding she has received death threats over the stance she’s taking. She said clients in her business often voice preferences for renters — no pets, no smoking, no gay people, no social assistance, ethnic groups they like or dislike — and Stewart always obliges. “That’s just the way things are,’’ she says. But the rejected renters in this case are furious and say they plan to launch a human rights complaint next week. “I’m going to take this (complaint) as far as I can to ensure this doesn’t happen to someone else. Nobody should have to go through this,’’ says Thiago Derucio, 26, a local singer who was turned away with his partner, Chris Prentice, 21. “I was pissed and hurt and couldn’t believe that (it) happened. We’re in 2012,’’ Derucio said in an interview. The couple subsequently found another unit to rent in Mississauga. The Ontario Human Rights Commission’s chief commissioner, Barbara Hall says that, generally speaking, issues such as the religion of a person offering a service determining who they’ll do business with has been found to “not be a competing right’’ in Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario judgments. In other words, when you go into business and put out services or products, you have to deal with whoever comes forward, regardless of religion, race or sexual orientation. And it’s not a defence to say you’re discriminating because that’s your clients’ wish, Hall adds. The code does make exemptions for sharing of facilities, such as a kitchen or a bathroom, but the Brampton case doesn’t appear to meet those criteria, Hall said, noting that if it’s a commercial enterprise, the operators “are governed by the Human Rights Code.” The Ontario tribunal hears complaints and can order human rights training and/or a monetary penalty for those found to have breached the code. The apartment conflict began a few weeks ago, after Derucio and Prentice responded by telephone to an online ad for a basement apartment Stewart advertised under her Rental Diva business, which Stewart told the Star isn’t licensed. Located in a bungalow, the separate rental unit has its own bathroom and bedroom, with an open concept living and dining area. It rents for $750 a month. When Prentice used the word “partner’’ during his telephone conversation with Stewart, Derucio says she asked what he meant by the term. When Prentice said he’s gay, Stewart responded her client doesn’t accept gay people, at which point the conversation ended, says Derucio. Prentice explained what happened to Derucio. Shocked, Derucio called Stewart back and asked if she really denied him and Prentice the unit because they’re homosexuals. She told him yes, he says, and she then repeated the comment about her client being opposed to gay renters. “I said, ‘I don’t mean to cut you off, but you do realize that’s against the law.’ She said, ‘I don’t care, and don’t go all gay rights on me,’” and hung up the phone, he alleges. “I was stunned, honestly stunned, that anyone would talk to someone like that,’’ Derucio adds. Stewart generally agrees with that version of events. She says she’s also a Seventh-day Adventist, and though she wouldn’t discriminate against gay renters herself, she understands why the homeowners in this case are digging in their heels. “It’s not about my views, it’s the clients’ choice,’’ Stewart said, later adding she won’t apologize for “being honest.’’ She says the homeowners don’t want to be identified publicly at this time. “The bottom line is, at the end of the day it’s (their home),’’ Stewart says, adding that as a black woman, she is fully conversant with issues of racism and discrimination. The case is similar to one heard before the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal last year involving two gay men who were turned away from a bed and breakfast in 2009 because the owners of the now-defunct business were evangelical Christians. A few weeks ago the tribunal ordered that the gay couple in that case each receive $1,500 for “injury to dignity, feelings and self-respect’’ and the operators stop the discriminatory conduct. The business had closed prior to the judgment."

WTF is with Hartz and why hasn't anyone done anything?

You have to read this! If anyone finds this blog.. click this informative link and maybe save your pet's life!!

This guy needs a new hobby.

Click this link for the story. I think it's nothing but sour grapes on the U.S.'s part. Get over it. This little Chinese girl comes up and whoops some major ass and all of a sudden it's because she's cheating??? ok.. fine.. the Chinese have a really bad past for this but things have improved but it's unfair to take it out on a little girl for all the bad they did before. She's right, they're biased against her because of the country's past. Funny, I didn't see the Chinese out there screaming "doping" when Michael Phelps did what seemed an "anomoly" at the last Olympics. So because she's a little Chinese girl she has to be cheating huh? This man that is spearheading this crap needs to find a new hobby. Leave the kid alone. And you know what? Maybe she has been fed performance enhancing drugs but they could be putting it in her food for all you know. He is targeting her. A kid. Go after the country if you need to be so damn petty but she's taking drug testing like everyone else and so far, NOTHING has come up. You are tested after every race. Nothing like picking on a kid.

I'm going to try to find the time in my day to blog again. There's so little. By the time I sit down here in front of the computer, there's only time to check email it seems these days. I think maybe I should link a few blogs together. I have one for stupid things only and I swear some days I could fill that. lol Like the other day a family member told me something... sad but just the same STUPID.. Her father-in-laws dog died :-( Really sad. I'm sure he was heart broken. I would be. But somewhere along the line he lost his mind. He had to have his baby put down and he brought it home to bury it. But he decided to bury it the next day instead and what did he do? Well he left the dog in his car overnight!! umm This is the hottest summer on record. Even evenings are hot. They can't get the stench of the dog out of his car. I have no idea what they're going to do. geez.
